	<title>Low Carb Food</title>
	<description>
If you are on a low carb diet, it is not in your best interest, as both your health and your pocketbook are concerned, to buy most of your low carb food in the pre-packaged or pre-prepared form. This types of low carb food is often full of preservatives, artificial sweeteners, and empty calories. Although some of the pre-packaged low carb food items can be great for times when you are in a hurry or as a quick snack break once in a while, they should not be eaten on a daily basis for most meals.

Getting ahold of the low carb foods that are good for you
being on a low carb diet should not just be about losing a few quick pounds. If you have this perspective on the diet it is doomed to fail, because when you go back to your original eating habits, you will gain all of that weight back and going up and down on the scales is not good for your health or your confidence. When you have decided to take on a low carb diet, it has to be for good. Lifestyle changes that you can stick with need to be implemented for the long-run. Because this is not going to be a quick fix, but rather a decision to take the weight off and keep it off, you have to learn as much as you can about the kinds of foods that should be eaten regularly.

Many of the low carb diets allow the dieter to consume any kind of meat, but really one should concentrate on eating things like poultry instead of red meat. Everyone should only eat red meat in moderation and it should be lean when it is eaten. Bacon and other very salty, cured meats should very rarely be eaten. What the fridge should be stocked with is all kinds of vegetables, which are an ideal low carb food because the carbs in them are complex, which means that they contain the fiber that your body needs for proper digestive functioning as well as many vitamins and minerals. Here is a sampling of some of the vegetables that are extremely beneficial:

 asparagus
 cabbage
 spinach
 onions
 carrot
 bean sprouts
 eggplant
 okra
 avocado
 zucchini
 leeks
 cauliflower
 mushrooms

Many of these vegetables are also so hearty that whole meals can be created from them! Grab a few recipes that include these vegetables and start making your own low carb food at home. You will reap the benefits on all fronts- you will save money, you will most definitely feel better physically, and if you have children in the home you will serve as a role model and make them accustomed to the goodness that is a wholesome diet.
