	<title>Good Carbohydrates</title>

When you put good carbohydrates to those hungry lips, you'll know it. Well, you'll know its good because you know what's bad. Bad carbs are sweet carbs, things that make you giddy and happy and feel like a woman, carbs that make you twist and turn and lick your fingers, the wrapper and everything else that sweet morsel touched. Good carbohydrates on the other hand lack that taste excitement, but what they lack in taste they make up for in POWER!

Good carbohydrates are hard to handle
Thinking about good carbohydrates is a complex ordeal - because the good ones are the complex carbohydrates, long chains of the smaller sugar units that we love. Pastas, potatoes, vegetables too - all these foods provide the more favored of the carb kingdom. But what makes a carb good? 

Why they're known as good carbohydrates
Good carbohydrates are good because - again - they aren't bad. When compared to simple carbohydrates, complex carbohydrates are just better. The foods containing complex carbs contain much less total sugar, and it takes longer to digest these complex sugars so your body has more opportunity to burn them before they get stored in your - ahem - problem zones. They're also good because they are a necessary component to any healthy diet, providing the short term energy reserves that our muscles need for physical activity. Fat for the organs, carbs for the action - thats just the way the body works. Its also why third world diets are just as unhealthy as our own low-carb creations - they lack the protein and fat in their diet to preserve their body's necessary functions, while we take away our source for fast energy and become incredibly obese. Good carbohydrates are essential for a quality, healthy diet - they cant provide everything, but they do provide something that we need and that every diet should have.
