	<title>Low Carbs</title>
	<description>
George Stella of the Food Network's "Low Carb and Lovin' It" has devoted his entire life to low carbs.

He was a chef, and at age 40, he was 465 pounds. He had been hospitalized many times for obesity-related conditions, and his doctor told him that if he didn't lose weight, he wouldn't live much longer. That's when he discovered the Atkins diet, which focused on low carbs. He completely cut out foods made with white flour and refined sugar, and he's lost 240 pounds. Being a chef, he's been able to create recipes with low carbs that are tasty and make low carb living a lot easier.

Of course, by now he's at the stage where he can incorporate fruits and vegetables into his diet, which helps make his recipes better, but through his show, he's able to share those recipes with the public.

Millions of people have turned to diets that focus on low carbs to help them lose weight, and they've had great success. And with all the bad press that carbs have received in the past few years, even people who don't need to lose weight have reexamined their eating habits and found that it wouldn't hurt to focus on low carbs themselves. After all, our bodies only need 130 grams of carbs a day to function properly, and many of us eat far more than that.

Low carbs and loving it (when you follow the rules)
People who have great success with low carbs diets and are able to stay healthy are the ones who follow the rules of the diets to the letter. The best thing to do is find a healthy low carb diet to begin with. And be sure to make healthy choices. For instance, what's a healthier breakfast meat--bacon or canadian bacon? Canadian bacon has a lot less fat and more protein, so it's clearly the better choice. Choosing lean cuts of meat over ones with a lot of saturated fat is going to keep your heart healthy. And if you must go on a low carb diet, make sure you take a fiber supplement, a calcium supplement and a multi-vitamin to stay healthy.
